I love fashion brands. I love brands that care, even more. CHANEL is my FAVORITE luxury brand but I do not love the sideways bourgeois treatment.
My very first visit to a signature CHANEL accessories boutique was love and then it wasn’t. I walked inside this beautiful “candy store” of fashion— black & white… modern-styled pearls… chic chains… quilted leather… sunglasses from the gods… the iconic double C stamped on everything… and the drool-worthy runway shows on the TV (it all drives me CRAZY because it’s so good).
…Then the moment came where I’ve never felt so invisible in my life.
The salesman or couturier representative did not greet me, he did not even look at me. More than likely, he didn’t consider me a buying customer. Too bad. I’m no stranger to splurging on big brands that I love. Even if it’s only every 2 years! During a special promotion.
…Classic story with high-end brands. It’s a major turn off. But not totally. I know right, kinda coo-coo. Sometimes adoration is scary.
Because of that moment though I do not have anything CHANEL. I’m hoping for a better experience with the brand. I believe it will happen.
I didn’t have a great time that visit but the fashion house itself is greatness to me.
For now I’ll just keep -watching- Chanel’s legendary fashion -this is my love for the Coco…
