Part Three Final-
Wear what’s good. The author wraps up her book with The Fashion Revolution. Elizabeth Cline uses a quote that says, “Clothes won’t change the world; the people [youth] who wear them will.” – by Anne Klein. (Of course I had to add my youth in there.) No matter what you wear on a daily basis and whether you consider your clothes passionate investments or simply a basic necessity, clothes are so essential to everyone’s life and it is worth paying attention to it. This book is all about being responsible for what you wear. It’s about doing good with what you wear. Believe it, the world is affected by the clothing on our backs and feet. If we see it this way (and do something) we will make a difference in changing the course of how we are treating our environments.
The Fashion Revolution is real and said to be “one of the longest-running and most successful social movements in human history.” The Conscious Closet and the idea behind this fashion revolution can be summed up like this: change or stay conscious of what clothes you buy (what brands make them because certain brands have better practices in making clothes than others; and what materials are used); how much clothes you buy and what it costs you; how you care about and clean your clothes; how you do away with the clothes you don’t use.
There was so much more information in this book. I didn’t touch on everything but I made sure you got the heart of it.
This book review is not the last thing you will hear from me about a conscious closet. Be on the lookout for my personal and SO FLY changes. Instagram fashion challenges here I come. I would love for you to come too.
The Conscious Closet, The Revolutionary Guide To Looking Good While Doing Good is an Excellent read and a Major topic!
